Advice for parents and children

What Can I do to help me be Successful?

I am sure that by Year 6 you are fed up of being told this, but to be successful you need to continue to'work hard and always do your best'.

The tests are your opportunity to show off how good you are!  Try not to worry too much about them, make sure you do your homework as usual to the best of your ability and ask if you have anything you dont understand.

Get plenty of sleep and eat breakfast before you come to school.  Get used to doing this now and it will be a good habit by the time May comes around.

Although you need to make time for homework, you also need time to relax, preferably in the fresh air with exercise.  However, I fully support parents in the removal of computer games and games machines during the spring term.

When the weather improves go outside and give your eyes a rest!

For Parents

Your child is under pressure by the nature of SATs though we try to underplay this at school without lowering expectations.   Encourage them to do well,  to complete homework and support them working through any revision.  The online games are not too onerous!

Good Luck!
