ROCKCLIFFE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL

C3 Summer Term 2019

As part of our health day, we've been exploring how to keep clean. We looked at how microorganisms can spread through touch and explored how we can wash our hands properly. We also looked at how astronauts keep clean in space and watched a video of one washing her hair.

To celebrate Father's Day we made space themed pop-up Father's Day cards to let our Father's know that we love them to the moon and back.

We've kickstarted our topic by learning all about the planets in our Solar System. We explored the relative size of these by using fruit.

We had lots of fun on our school trip to Dino Park. We had lots of opportunities to apply the learning from our topic and loved seeing the statues of all of the different dinosaurs.

We've been learning all about the different extinction theories. As part of this, we've been learning about volcanoes and how they are formed. We made our very own volcanoes and had lots of fun erupting these.

We've been developing our coding skills this week using Daisy the Dinosaur.

We've been looking at dinosaur skeletons this week and used these as inspiration for our artwork. We used artstraws to replicate these and developed our measuring skills using rulers too.

Summer is definitely approaching as we started our Key Stage One after school tennis club this week. Hopefully we'll have a budding Andy Murray or Serena Williams in our class.

This week, we've been exploring when the dinosaurs lived. We learnt about the three dinosaur periods and placed dinosaurs into chronological order based on these.
