ROCKCLIFFE CE PRIMARY SCHOOL

Spring 2

This half term we will be going back in time to the earliest period of British history. We are going Stone Age!

In history we will be transported back in time to the Stone Age. We will be learning all about life in the Stone Age and how it changed through the Bronze Age to the Iron Age. We will become history detectives understanding how we analyse a variety of sources to learn from the past. We will also be looking at how people lived in the Stone Age by investigating homes, food and jobs.

In science we will be working scientifically. We will be asking questions to develop our understanding of the world around us. We will be investigating, observing and analysing data to answer these questions and make predictions.

In RE we will be looking at the importance of the Easter story and what it can teach us about hope and despair.

In maths we will be continuing to develop our knowledge of fractions to become fraction masters. We will also be working on our times tables knowledge before moving onto geometry.

In English we are learning all about instructions. We will be developing our knowledge of imperative verbs and determiners. The quality text we are focusing on is How to trap a dragon by Pie Corbett. We will be using this to learn all about instruction texts before we write our own. We will be using the text Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura to develop our reading comprehension skills.
