Our Vision and Values
#growingwisebuilders
After discussion with the Diocese, Our Governors, Parents and Children we refreshed our School Vision and Values. We are very proud in our aim of #growingwisebuilders.
Rockcliffe CE School Vision
Our School community is constructed on a base of firm foundations, which provides all children with the scaffolding and tools to develop their strength, creativity and wisdom to weather any storm.
The parable of the two builders, also known as the wise and foolish builders, focuses on basing your life on Jesus’ teachings, but emphasising that it’s not just hearing it that matters, but that you actually have to do something about it.
Children will learn what it means to have wisdom and where they should get wisdom from.
In Matthew 7, Jesus teaches us that true wisdom comes from trusting in Him and His word. If we build our lives on the basis of God’s truth then we will be able to persevere when the storms of life come. If our foundation is built on our own worldly desires and wisdom then we will fail when we are tested.
Our Core Christian Values are :
Strength
Thessalonians 5:11
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
Isaiah 41:10
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
Creativity
Wisdom
Jeremiah 10:12 12 But God made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

Song: The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock
“The wise man built his house upon the rock
The wise man built his house upon the rock
The wise man built his house upon the rock
And the rain came tumbling down
Oh, the rain came down
And the floods came up
The rain came down
And the floods came up
The rain came down
And the floods came up
And the wise man’s house stood firm.
The foolish man built his house upon the sand
The foolish man built his house upon the sand
The foolish man built his house upon the sand
And the rain came tumbling down
Oh, the rain came down
And the floods came up
The rain came down
And the floods came up
The rain came down
And the floods came up
And the foolish man’s house went “splat!” [clap hands once]
So, build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ
Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ
Build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ
And the blessings will come down
Oh, the blessings come down
As your prayers go up
The blessings come down
As your prayers go up
The blessings come down
As your prayer go up
So build your house on the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Parents and carers are invited to share our vision and values.
The children looked at our Core Christian Values- Strength, Creativity and Wisdom. They thought about who/what was personally important to us. Who helps to give us Strength? Who helps to develop our Creativity? Who shares their Wisdom with us?
Children made keyrings. Some keyrings have been gifted to friends and family while others chose to keep them and record a personal moral/message.
Quest Club looked at the Christian Story of Easter and made some fabulous Clarice Cliff inspired plates.
Hands of Prayer. Children wrote their own reflective words for Easter. Some children chose to write a prayer while others chose to complete an Acrostic Poem. They look beautiful on our Easter display and allow others to read them as they pass by.
