Summer 2024

Welcome back to school and to the summer term! 

This half term our overarching theme is 'The Bug Hotel' where we will be exploring all things related to  minibeasts. Look out for an upcoming trip to the woodlands at Castletown to go on a minibeast hunt. 

PE will now be on a Wednesday afternoon for the EYFS children as we will be having outdoor PE with Nick, our wonderful sports coach. We will work our our listening skills and how to work cooperatively whilst developing our skills in a variety of games activities.

Summer 1 Week 1

Here the children are following signals to stop, walk and run and catching each other. Great attention and listening to instructions and working together to free our friends. 

The younger children in EYFS enjoyed a subitising walk in the outdoor area this week. They could tell me what they could see and how they could see it. Jack told us he could see two. A one and a one. What can you see and how can you see it at home? Share your photos on Tapestry. 

Goldilocks and the Three Bears was a focus story this week. Some children enjoyed using props to retell the story and used repeated refrains. The children took turns and waited for their part in the story. They listened attentively to each person retelling their part in the story.
